Wow, it is even better than I imagined!
That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I got a taste of the Peanut Butter flavor Hammer Gel. I was 15 miles into my first long run in what seemed like ages when I decided to take a break and enjoy the view and get my first taste of this treat. Here are my thoughts.
Great consistency. Maybe it was cold out but I was pleasantly surprised at how thick this gel was versus a lot of others that seem to be very runny.
Second, it was very tasty. If I had to compare it to something I would go with the taste of the candy "Mary Janes"...
And lastly, it worked. As I've found with most of the Hammer Products I've used, this gel packs a punch. Just enough to keep my energy levels up without giving any lag or cramps from a full gut. I ate a second gel about an hour later as I headed back into town, more because I wanted to taste it again and not so much because I needed to eat something. It was just as good the second time around!
