Bio

Matt grew up in a small town in upstate New York, first being introduced to the mountains on climbs of Adirondack Peaks my Dad would take us on as early as 2 years old. At 10 we moved to Pittsburgh, PA and at 16 to Louisville, KY during which times I mostly played hockey and played outside in the woods, riding bikes and building forts. After high school I made brief appearance in college, partied myself out, ran away from home, and somehow wound up in the Marines. After Boot Camp, Combat Training, and some schooling and I was sent to 29 Palms, CA where I would discover Joshua Tree National Park and Rock Climbing, forever changing my life. After the Marines, I finished college, met a girl, and bought a house in Big Bear City, CA where I am a full time husband and stay at home dad, and part time race director. I spend most of time running, climbing, riding my bikes and generally being adventurous and outdoors.
